Juvenile Justice, Georgia Department of - DJJ

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of general secretarial, clerical, and administrative support functions/processes or a few specialized or essential clerical functions in support of a unit or office and related personnel. May enter data and/or process documents and records. The work includes operating standard office equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of a clerical or administrative supervisor.

Job Specific Duties:

Completes assignments related to administrative support functions, including:

  • Licensure
  • Personnel
  • Purchasing
  • Records management
  • Inventory

Provides general clerical support such as:

  • Typing
  • Filing
  • Ordering supplies
  • Sorting mail

Supports operations in assigned functional areas, such as:

  • Processing transactions
  • Reviewing applications
  • Scheduling training and facility maintenance
  • Reconciling financial records
  • Assessing and collecting program fees
  • Generating reports

 Performs general office tasks, including:

  • Data entry and maintenance
  • Copying and distributing documents
  • Maintaining recordkeeping and filing systems

Provides administrative and secretarial support to upper-level managers.

Exercises independent judgment and initiative in supporting administrative and clerical functions for individuals or groups.



Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED AND Two years of general office or administrative experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess two or more of the following:


1. Four years of experience in juvenile justice setting: three years of which should be in case management.
2. Two years or more of experience with the Juvenile Tracking system
3. Two years or more experience monitoring and/or evaluating programs.
4. Associate degree from an accredited university
