The Georgia Department of Defense Public Affairs Office (PAO) is seeking an Admin Assistant 3. This position is located at Clay National Guard Center in Marietta, GA.
The Admin Assistant will be a key point of contact for office organization, including but not limited to maintaining electronic records, maintaining inventories, documenting operating procedures. They will also assist with the content production for social media, the website, and projects. This is a highly collaborative position touching the main functions within the Georgia DoD PA office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Public Affairs Director and section leads to:
- Updates records, disseminates reports for day-to-day business and Strategic Management effort.
- Collaborates with Public Affairs section leads to consolidate, update the Georgia DoD PA Crisis Communication Book-ongoing effort.
- Log Public Affairs requests originating internally and externally
- Assists with organizing and updating Flickr.
- Assists with employee reward submissions
- Updates website – leadership photo portion only. Obtains AFPIMS/military website certification.
- Collects and compiles data from Public Affairs sections for presentation.
- Assists Georgia DoD PA with DSCA missions and exercises.
- Attends office meetings and take notes
- May work/collaborate with interns.
- Performs other functions as assigned
Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications have:
- Well organized and detailed communicator
- 4 years of administrative experience required
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Sharepoint experience preferred.
- Previous military member preferred;
- Graduate of Defense Information Schoo preferredl;
- Experience with Social Media, Photography and Videography preferred
Additional Information:
The selected applicant must pass a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a Georgia and national criminal records search, a pre-employment drug test (post-hire will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program), AND a post-employment federal background investigation.
