Adjunct Instructor - Psychology

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Psychology) position in the Arts & Sciences department of the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.
Under the general supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences, the Adjunct Instructor (Psychology) provides instruction to students in General Education Psychology courses. This position requires passion, demonstrated by experience, for effective teaching, learning and advisement of a diverse student population.
Job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:
· Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques.
· Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required.
· Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills.
· Demonstrates knowledge of current procedures in the Psychology field.
· Follows approved course syllabus.
· Completes all reports, records and invoices in a timely manner and maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.
· Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
· Maintains classrooms and labs in accordance with institutional safety guidelines.
· Attend meetings as required and appropriate.
· Observes and enforces the institution's policies and regulations.
· Assists with student recruitment and job placement Serves on committees.
· Maintains qualifications for employment in accordance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
· Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual.
· Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and
· Perform additional duties, as assigned.

- Must possess and demonstrate a positive attitude and well-developed organizational skills.
· Ability to multi-task and perform administrative duties for class management.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
· Master’s degree in Psychology, or at least a Master's degree in a related field and eighteen (18) graduate hours in the aforementioned discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
· Ability to work flexible hours when necessary.
· One year of teaching experience; work experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels required for Psychology and general education areas.
· Experience as an instructor / teacher in a secondary or postsecondary setting.
· Experience with BANNER and LMS, preferred.
