POSITION:                ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR – CYBERSECURITY / WEBSITE DESIGN  

                                                                                                   

REPORTS TO:         Dean of Advanced Technology & Engineering

SALARY:                  Depending on education, experience, and qualifications

SHIFT:                       Day or Evening

RESPONSIBILITIES:        

Under general supervision; will prepare and teach classes in the Cybersecurity/ Web Site Design program; evaluate student progress toward goals; participate in advisement activities by meeting with students regularly to discuss progress; and complete class administrative duties, such as attendance reporting; recording of graded assignments in a timely manner; and final grade submission by required deadline.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·         A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or closely related field with at least 18 semester hours of Cybersecurity or Web Design course work.

·         Three (3) years of in-field work experience required;

·         Must be able to teach content for one or more of the following courses: Hardware Install/Maintenance, Security Fundamentals, Security Policies and Procedures, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP/MSQL, WordPress

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

·         Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials;

·         Knowledge of area of assignment;

·         Skill in presenting subject matter;

·         Skill in administering tests to evaluate students' progress;

·         Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs;

·         Effective communication and interpersonal relation skills;

·         Knowledge of student information systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum and competencies):

·         Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or closely related field with at least 18 semester hours of Cybersecurity or Web Design course work at the graduate level.

·         At least one of the following Certifications for Cybersecurity: A+, Security+, Ethical Hacker

·         Prior teaching experience in higher education

This position is available at all Lanier Tech campus locations; and day and evening classes available.

NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
