Employment Terms: This job is a part-time, non-benefited, FLSA Exempt/Professional position in the Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design that reports to the Program Director of Automated Manufacturing and Engineering Technology 

 

Salary: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum bases on contact hours taught. 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 11405):  
Master’s degree in discipline or Bachelor's degree and 18 graduate hours in discipline Minimum of two years of relevant work experience required. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 Three years of industry or postsecondary teaching experience in one or all the areas noted below. 

Mechanical Engineering Technology: Three to five years teaching experience and two to five years of work experience in: manufacturing processes, statics, strength of materials, materials science, hydraulics and pneumatics, mechanical drives and systems, mechanical measurements, and machine design.   

Electrical Engineering Technology: Three to five years teaching experience and two to five years of work experience in: DC and AC circuit analysis, electronic circuits (e.g. diodes, transistors, filters, amplifiers), digital logic circuits, electrical instrumentation and measurements. 

Mechatronics Technology: Three to five years teaching experience and two to five years of work experience in:  Industrial Mechanics, Fluid Power Systems, Motor Controls, Robotics, Process Control, and/or Allen-Bradley PLC Programming OR three to five years of work experience in these specific areas. 

Prepares and delivers lecture and/or lab course material. Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for general core courses. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately. Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts. 

 

 If offered a position, employees in this department must complete the Hazardous Materials training annually.       

Duties/ Responsibilities

  1. Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for specified courses.  

  • Organize and conduct classes using a variety of learning experiences and activities.  

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward students.  

  • Demonstrate current and comprehensive knowledge of the subject areas to be taught.  

  • Accurately and timely submit required reports.

  1. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives 

  • Communicates students’ progress to student and appropriate personnel and according to established guidelines.  

  • Accurately records pertinent information in students’ records as required

  1. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.  

  • Complies and submits reports in a timely manner

  1. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area

  1. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.  

  • Works within the system in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; shows flexibility in response to process change and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures.
