Job Summary                                                                                                                

The Accounts Payable Accounting Technician is responsible for reviewing a wide range of source documents, such as purchase orders, vouchers, invoices, EPVs, receipts, requisitions and other forms for accuracy and completeness; Processes various accounts payable; Distributes checks; Contacts vendors to resolve questions; Enters routine financial transactions into accounting systems; Verifies information; Reconciles Purchase Orders the first week of each month; Organizes and maintains hard copy files of Purchase Orders and check copies; Assists with metering college mail; Attends training and implements processes as directed; Provides information and assistance to internal and external customers; Correctly applies accounting principles according to GAAP, Governmental Accounting Standards, applicable state and federal guidelines and TCSG fiscal policies and procedures; Performs limited, routine general clerical duties.

Accurately analyzes invoices and other documentation to process payment;

Work Environment

 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and technologies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.

 

 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday – Thursday 9 hours a day between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm (flexible) and Friday 8 am – 12 pm. 

 

 

Travel

Travel to other campus locations and for training is required on occasion. 

 

 

Required Education and Experience

  •  High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in accounting

  • Excel experience

     

     

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Accounting.

  • Accounts Payable experience.

  • State of GA accounting experience.

  • Experience with TeamWorks Financials.
