Accounting Coordinator
Primary Function of the Accounting Coordinator is to manage the day-to-day financial activities of the Georgia Piedmont Technical College Foundation.
Responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions of the Foundation, including cash receipts and cash disbursements.
Maintains accurate accounting records and internal controls, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, including monthly closing procedures and journal entries.
Perform monthly account reconciliations timley, including bank reconciliations and reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
Monitors internal control over receipts and disbursements, including maintaining adequate segregation of duties and compliance with the Foundation’s accounting policies and procedures.
Assists in the preparation of accounting related materials for presentation to the Finance Committee, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors.
Responsible for reconciliation and monitoring of temporarily and permanently restricted net assets to ensure use in accordance with donor instructions.
Responsible for reconciliation of fixed asset details and depreciation schedule.
Responsible for reconciliation debt and related interest expense.
Responsible for coordination of information necessary for year-end attest engagements (audits, reviews, or compilations) by the independent accounting firm and preparation of schedules or other information as required.
Responsible for coordination of information necessary (as requested by the outside accounting firm) to prepare the Foundation's annual Form 990 by the due date.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
