Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, performs or oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of accounting activity for a department or agency.  Analyzes financial information and programs, identifies financial trends, makes recommendations to management and prepares a full range of financial reports, including specialized or non-standard reports. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.

 

Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to):

·         Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.

·         Serves as treasury expert. Includes managing investments, serving as the administrator for all bank accounts and handling all business regarding our credit card machines and transactions.

·         Analyzes and posts cash receipts.

Accountant 2 Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of professional accounting job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Accountant 1 (FIP020) or position equivalent. $46,632.33 Annually | Pay Grade I

Accountant 3 Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting and two (2) years of professional accounting job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Accountant 2 (FIP021) or position equivalent. $55,003.33 Annually | Pay Grade K

Preferred Qualifications:  Government fund accounting and federal grant experience.  Government Finance Officer Program Level 1 certification highly desirable.

 Work Conditions & Physical Demands: General office environment.

 Remote Work:***Employees authorized for remote/hybrid work must reside and perform their job duties exclusively within the state of Georgia. Remote/hybrid work arrangements outside the state are not permitted under current policy.
