OVERVIEW

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) employs approximately 1600 employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). GSP troopers investigate traffic crashes and enforce traffic and criminal laws on the state's roads. Capitol Police officers prevent and detect criminal acts and enforce traffic regulations throughout Capitol Hill. MCCD officers conduct safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles and inspect highway shipments of hazardous materials.

Although focused primarily on the enforcement of traffic laws and investigation of traffic crashes, the Department of Public Safety will support the efforts of all public safety agencies to reduce crime, apprehend those who commit them, and respond to natural and manmade disasters. Job Description

 

Job Title:  Quality, Risk, and Incidents Director- East Central Regional Hospital- Augusta

 

Pay Grade: N

 

Reporting: East Central Regional Hospital

  

Job Summary:

  Participates in Hospital Executive Leadership team, Hospital Medical Executive Committee, and other designated committees
 Supervises Risk Manager and Quality Improvement Manager
 Provides oversight and ongoing monitoring of CAPs to confirm that the action steps have been fully implemented.
 Coordinates with other QRI Directors to identify and implement DBHDD Hospital System PI and survey activities
 Directs Hospital Safety and Security Risks in collaboration with Hospital Leadership
 As part of Hospital Executive Leadership team, implements all required TJC and CMS standards and educates hospital staff regarding regulations and compliance expectations in conjunction with State and Federal Law
 As part of Hospital Executive Leadership team, prepares biannual reports for Governing Body
 On behalf of Hospital Executive Leadership team, facilitates monthly hospital Quality Council and prepares other quality and risk related reports as deemed necessary
 As part of Hospital Executive Leadership team, prepares, organizes, and coordinates TJC Accreditation and CMS Certification Surveys
 As part of Hospital Executive Leadership team, actively participate in hospital leadership meetings and works with hospital project leaders to provide guidance and assistance in developing and implementing solutions to quality and risk issues
 As part of Hospital Executive Leadership team, under the direction of the Hospital RHA, coordinates reporting of Sentinel Events to regulatory entities and facilitates hospital Root Cause Analysis
 As part of Hospital Executive Leadership, selects key performance indicators
 Position requires up to 10% travel within state hospital system
 Actively Participate in assigned Hospital System Meetings
 Other duties as assigned

 Preferred Qualifications

Master’s in Public Admin, Social Work, Nursing, Business Admin or related field or Master’s in healthcare management or related field
 5 years of QM or related experience or 5 years of risk management or related experience
 5 years of experience in project management or supervision of healthcare programs
 Experience in Performance Improvement
 Knowledge of TJC (HAP, NCC, BHC) accreditation requirements and CMS certification standards
 Experience in organizing and preparing for TJC Accreditation (HAP, BHC, NCC) and CMS Certification Surveys
 Experience in overseeing established structures and processes in relation to quality management & assurance, performance improvement, risk reporting & mitigation, incident management and Health & Safety within a psychiatric inpatient facility
 Experience in Data Analysis
 Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

Certification in Performance Improvement or Project Management
 Experience in Microsoft Office programs
 Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
