OVERVIEW

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) employs approximately 1600 employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). GSP troopers investigate traffic crashes and enforce traffic and criminal laws on the state's roads. Capitol Police officers prevent and detect criminal acts and enforce traffic regulations throughout Capitol Hill. MCCD officers conduct safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles and inspect highway shipments of hazardous materials.

Although focused primarily on the enforcement of traffic laws and investigation of traffic crashes, the Department of Public Safety will support the efforts of all public safety agencies to reduce crime, apprehend those who commit them, and respond to natural and manmade disasters. This position is PART-TIME, working less than 29 hours a week.

 

We are seeking a friendly, service-oriented person to join our staff as a Part Time Lodging Attendant who will interact with customers on a daily basis providing customer service, work the front desk, provide laundry service for linen, and cleaning and maintaining rooms.

 

Positions duties include the following:

 

Front Desk

  • Register guest by phone, or in person
  • Manage guest service requests
  • Issues extra linens
  • Keep front desk area and lobby clean
  • Process cash or credit card payments
  • Updated the reservation system including cancellations, and early departures
     

     

Cleaning Rooms

  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Vacuum carpets, dust and polish furniture
  • Clean metal fixtures
  • Empty and clean trash containers
  • Clean sinks, toilets, mirrors, and showers
  • Wipe down glass surfaces
  • Make up beds, change linens and towels
  • Maintain cleaning carts

     

Laundry

  • Operating commercial washer, and dryer
  • Collect and distribute linens
  • Wash, dry, fold, stack and store linens, towels, washcloths, and bath mats
  • Maintain laundry rooms and storage rooms 
     

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those applicants who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications also have a minimum of six months of work experience in commercial housekeeping.  Basic computer skills a plus.
