POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, receives and reviews incoming electronically filed rules and regulations to determine compliance with APA requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes and prepares proofs of rules in preparation for publication and distribution pursuant to Administrative Procedure Act.
- Communicates accurate information to agency, Legislative and Legal assistants and/or officials regarding regulations, policies and procedures.
- Assists with promulgation and proofreading of administrative rules and regulations for publication pursuant to Administrative Procedure Act.
- Coordinates the distribution of Georgia Session Laws and Journals of the House of Representatives and Senate.
- Oversees the organization and maintenance of filing system and rules database of the section’s inventory of new and old rules, regulations and Archives retention.
- Responds to other state agencies, Legislative and Legal assistants and/or the general public request for research and certified copies of rules and regulations.
- Compiles information and statistics as needed.
- Updates tracking or inventory databases and enters data.
- Responds to public inquiries from telephone calls, emails, and/or faxes.
- Generates written responses to agency and public inquiries.
- Retrieves computer records and enters or updates databases.
- Organizes and maintains filing system and rules database of section's inventory of new and old rules and regulations.
- Performs general accounting procedures in accordance with unit financial activity.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to research issues and determine resolutions.
- Ability to screen, examine and verify documents for accuracy.
- Ability to generate system-based correspondence.
- Knowledge of reconciling/balancing receipts
SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS: None.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) years of equivalent work experience in an administrative or legal environment with concentration of reviewing and/or drafting rules and regulations.
Must possess intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
Associate degree in a related field and one year of related experience OR High school diploma/equivalent and three years of related experience in an administrative environment.
