OVERVIEW

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) employs approximately 1600 employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). GSP troopers investigate traffic crashes and enforce traffic and criminal laws on the state's roads. Capitol Police officers prevent and detect criminal acts and enforce traffic regulations throughout Capitol Hill. MCCD officers conduct safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles and inspect highway shipments of hazardous materials.

Although focused primarily on the enforcement of traffic laws and investigation of traffic crashes, the Department of Public Safety will support the efforts of all public safety agencies to reduce crime, apprehend those who commit them, and respond to natural and manmade disasters. The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Financial Operations Generalist at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.

Job Grade G  -  Salary $38,143.00

Job Description:

Performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control functions such as accounts payable, travel reimbursement, and procurement processes.  Provides customer service and technical program support for an accounting office or related financial function.

Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards:

·       Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision

·       Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas

·       Analyzes financial reports to assess compliance

·       Balances, reconciles and maintains accounting/financial records and related transactions

·       Understands and applies the Agency's travel policy to all travel related payment requests

·       Reviews and processes employee travel related expense reimbursements

·       Processes all procurement transactions for the Region and State Hospital

·       Maintains inventory records

·       Disburses payments and posts to appropriate accounts

·       Compiles and prepares accounting reports

·       Complies with federal, state, and agency policies, procedures and regulations.  May apply GAAP guidelines

·       May compile or participate in the development of budget data and related documents

·       Reviews documents for compliance; completes or approves transactions and communicates program information/regulations to clients

·       Assist individuals at the Business Office checkout counter with retrieving valuables and ensure individuals valuables are properly safeguarded in the Business Office

·       Prepares the facility's operating receipts.

High School diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience; or One (1) year of experience at the lower level Accounting Technician Trainee (FIT019) or equivalent position
