OVERVIEW

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) employs approximately 1600 employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). GSP troopers investigate traffic crashes and enforce traffic and criminal laws on the state's roads. Capitol Police officers prevent and detect criminal acts and enforce traffic regulations throughout Capitol Hill. MCCD officers conduct safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles and inspect highway shipments of hazardous materials.

The mission of the Georgia Department of Public Safety is to work cooperatively with all levels of government to provide a safe environment for residents and visitors to our state. Although focused primarily on the enforcement of traffic laws and investigation of traffic crashes, the Department of Public Safety will support the efforts of all public safety agencies to reduce crime, apprehend those who commit them, and respond to natural and manmade disasters. Under supervision, the Agent Program manager leads a diverse range of support, operational, and programmatic activities for the Georgia Access Agent Program.

Manages the tracking agent activity, including agent certification verification, de-certification, and enrollments.

Coordinates with vendors responsible for agent examination and trainings (e.g., certification coursework, exam, and agent portal).

Ensures the Agent Program Team adheres to all rules and receives adequate training to monitor compliance of consumer data against all federal and state regulations for privacy and security, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance. 

Provides ongoing support for agents as needed, including resolving inquiries escalated from the contracted vendor responsible for the Contact Center.

Delivers presentations to agents about the Georgia Access requirements.

Conducts or participates in the development, review, revision, interpretation, and/or implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.

Coordinates compliance with rules, regulations, and policies. 

Coordinates interaction between department operating units, other programs and/or external customers as appropriate. 

Ensures efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of all functions through the use of computer systems, management controls, and sound organizational structure.

Oversees the development and on-going management of projects consistent with agency goals and objectives. 

Participates in the planning, coordination, development and implementation of long-range goals and objectives.

Performs other duties assigned.

Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, or a related field which includes three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or seven (7) years of related professional experience which includes three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or three (3) years of experience required at the lower level Mgr, Business Ops (GSM010) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
