OVERVIEW

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) employs approximately 1600 employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). GSP troopers investigate traffic crashes and enforce traffic and criminal laws on the state's roads. Capitol Police officers prevent and detect criminal acts and enforce traffic regulations throughout Capitol Hill. MCCD officers conduct safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles and inspect highway shipments of hazardous materials.

Although focused primarily on the enforcement of traffic laws and investigation of traffic crashes, the Department of Public Safety will support the efforts of all public safety agencies to reduce crime, apprehend those who commit them, and respond to natural and manmade disasters. About Us:

Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta is situated on 174 acres in DeKalb County, about three miles from the city of Atlanta. Our three major program areas include Adult Mental Health, Forensic Services, and Developmental Disabilities with a catchment area that includes all of metro Atlanta and extends to the northwestern state borders. Job Description:

In this role, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary treatment teams in an acute inpatient setting, serving adults with severe mental illness, trauma histories, impulse control issues, and interpersonal challenges. Your primary responsibilities will include providing psychological assessments, behavioral interventions, individual therapy, and group interventions to support the recovery of the people we serve.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Competency in providing services to diverse clients

• Experience working with psychiatric inpatients and individuals with Serious Mental Illness

• Excellent writing and organizational skills

• Experience collaborating on interdisciplinary teams

• Proficiency in psychological assessment

Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice psychology AND One year of experience at the lower level Psychologist 1 (HCP140) or equivalent. Note: License may be temporary, provisional, or permanent.
