OVERVIEW

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) employs approximately 1600 employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). GSP troopers investigate traffic crashes and enforce traffic and criminal laws on the state's roads. Capitol Police officers prevent and detect criminal acts and enforce traffic regulations throughout Capitol Hill. MCCD officers conduct safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles and inspect highway shipments of hazardous materials.

GRHS is seeking candidates for the position of Admin Support 2 – Receptionist.  This position will work Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. / 40 hours a week.

 

External Description

Under general supervision, performs a variety of general secretarial, clerical, and administrative support functions/processes or a few specialized or essential clerical functions in support of several units or office and related personnel. Front Desk Receptionist. May enter data and/or process documents and records. The work includes operating standard office equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of an Administrative Supervisor.

 

Primary Duties:

  • Manage all incoming calls to Hospital’s Switchboard. Determine callers needs and direct/connect them to appropriate service on campus. Provide information on services available at GRH/A
  • Completes tasks and assignments associated with administrative support functions (i.e. licensure, personnel, purchasing, records management, inventory, or similar function)
  • Provides clerical support such as incidental typing, filing, ordering supplies Process telephone work orders. Track Telephone orders to completion. Trouble shoot telephone problems with staff
  • Process continued Habilitation and Court Order Services Petitions. Scheduling Conference Rooms, Schedule Court Hearings, Process and facilitate the filing of 1021s and commitment documents with Probate Court.
  • Request release information from Medical Records
  • Serve as point of contact for Out Patient Forensic Patients for Evaluation Appointments
  • Provides backup to Administrative Assistant and Administrative Support to an upper-level Manager
  • Uses independent judgment and initiative to perform administrative, clerical and secretarial duties in support of an individual employee or group of employees.
