Responsibilities

Pathways Center Care Campus has two 24/7 Crisis Stabilization Units; one for adults and one for individuals ages 5-17.  Pathways Center's Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU's) are short term (2-7 days), medically monitored crisis residential programs, which offer services for a limited duration to stabilize acute psychiatric or behavioral symptoms, evaluate treatment needs, and develop plans to meet the needs of persons served.  The programs operate 24 hours per day 7 days per week. The CSU's are designed to serve as a first line of community based alternative care to hospitalization, offering psychiatric stabilization and detoxification services on a short-term basis. 

In addition to the crisis stabilization programs, Pathways Center Care Campus has a Crisis Service Center (CSC).  The CSC provides on-site and telephonic crisis intervention and 23-hour observation services 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.  The CSC operates on a walk-in basis and provides psychiatric/substance abuse related crisis evaluation and brief intervention services to support an individual who is experiencing an abrupt and substantial change in behavior noted by severe impairment of functioning typically associated with a precipitating situation or a marked increase in personal distress.  Interventions are provided by licensed behavioral health professionals designed to prevent out of community treatment or hospitalization. 

Responsibilities for the Social Service Technician include but are not limited to the following:

 

§   Works with team members to implement assigned parts of individual treatment and behavior management plans as part of each resident's recovery process and works with supervisor and treatment team to coordinate and plan specific activities to be carried out during shift that is consistent and fits within the program’s overall purpose and goals for the consumer.

§   Organize and conduct individual and group activities for the consumer

§   Observes and documents each consumer's behavior and level of engagement in individual and group discussions on a daily basis and is able to articulate in writing the consumer’s progress towards goals.

§   Ensures safety and security of consumers by maintaining a clean and organized environment; constantly interacting with and monitoring the behavior of each consumer; and establishing and maintaining an excellent rapport with both consumers and team members

§   Maintains awareness of safety and/or potential threats at all times

§   Participates in daily treatment staffing as required

§   Holds self-accountable for working assigned shifts with no more than two (2) unexpected absences per month

§   Holds self-accountable for daily and timely documentation of consumer's activities and behaviors in the company's electronic health record system

§   Works with team members in shift change discussions to ensure that pertinent information is passed from incoming and outgoing shifts

§   When working in Temporary Observation side: helps monitor the Behavior Health Link (BHL) board for the Crisis Stabilization Programs, engages consumers in positive discussion while awaiting placement and/or next level of care

The individual in this role must be able to exercise judgment and discretion in dealing with behavioral situations, must be able to document legibly and timely in individual’s records and must possess positive interpersonal skills with both clients and other team members.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and one year experience in a social services related position Or Completion of two years of college with at least 15 credit hours in a social services related field

Must exhibit excellent customer service skills….Must have an ability to use computers efficiently….

High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience in a social services-related position; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Tech 2 (SST011) or position equivalent..
