Under general supervision, the Medical Laboratory Technology Instructor Program Chair will provide classroom, laboratory, and online instruction for credit courses in the School of Allied Health Sciences. The instructor will also contribute to curriculum development, student mentoring, and program accreditation activities. 

  • Prepare and deliver engaging instruction for credit courses in Medical Lab Technology and Phlebotomy.

  • Teach lecture, lab, and internet-based courses.

  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials in alignment with course objectives.

  • Advise and mentor students to support academic and career goals.

  • Ensure compliance with NAACLS accreditation standards.

  • Oversee curriculum development and program implementation.

  • Select and manage textbooks and course resources.

  • Update curriculum to reflect current industry standards.

  • Maintain program accreditation and institutional compliance.

  • Teach other health-related courses as needed.

  • Master’s degree or higher from a nationally or regionally accredited institution.

  • Current and valid ASCP generalist certification (must be maintained during employment).

  • Minimum of 3 years (within the last 7) of full-time, in-field experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or closely related healthcare role.

  • Ability to teach all phases of the Medical Lab Technology and Phlebotomy curricula.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
