The Department of Revenue administers the tax laws of the State of Georgia fairly and efficiently in order to promote public confidence and compliance while providing excellent customer service.

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, Office of - OCI

Under broad supervision, the Plan Examiner is responsible for reviewing and approving elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation system designs for code compliance.

Evaluate applications and examine plans, and drawings for compliance with applicable state, national codes, regulations, and laws.

Approve or reject elevator plans and permit applications based on rules and regulations.

Prepare correspondence informing applicants of decisions and appeals processes.

Serve as subject matter expert and resource for designated discipline.

Monitor compliance with licensing and certification requirements.

Coordinate with inspectors to address non-compliance, unsafe conditions, or violations.

Maintain comprehensive records of plan reviews, correspondence, licensing actions, and enforcement activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level (RCT010) or position equivalent.
