Job Summary

The Georgia Department of Education's (GaDOE) - Division of State Schools is recruiting for an experienced Part Time Food Service Worker. Under limited supervision, this position will perform duties related to the preparation, cooking and storing of food and beverages. The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Description of Duties

  • Follow safe/sanitary food handling practices
  • Operate and maintain food service equipment
  • Use supplies appropriately
  • Assist in the serving and distribution of food and in the clean-up and disassembly of the dining room
  • Clean kitchen, kitchen equipment, dining room and remove trash
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment
  • Perform a variety of duties as directed by the manager

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one of more of the following:

  • High school diploma
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to stand and walk the majority of the shift
  • Must be able to life and carry up to 50 pounds, and push or pull the same frequently
  • Job may require frequent bending, stooping and crawling
