Position Title:  Licensing Tech/Litigation Financier 1 for Non-Depository Financial Institutions

Pay Grade: F

Starting Salary:  $38,000.00

Job Location:  Main Office located in Atlanta, GA 30341 (Dekalb County)

Job Summary

Under close supervision, performs a variety of tasks assisting in the processing of applications and approval requests, including new, amendment, and renewal applications for non-depository institutions, with a focus on noncomplex applications. While assisting in the licensing process, Licensing Tech 1 will be expected to review applications, including the financial and biographical background, criminal justice information, regulatory actions, etc. of each applicant to determine whether licensing standards have been met. The Licensing Tech 1 role requires a significant amount of oral and written communication to applicants, licensees, and other industry representatives.   

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs job responsibilities under close supervision.
  • Advises licensees and other individuals or groups concerning licensing, permits, or regulations.
  • Assists with the evaluation of applications, records, and documents in order to gather information concerning violations, eligibility, or liability issues.
  • Issues or review licenses, permits, or certificates of authority.
  • Prepares correspondence informing applicants of licensing decisions and appeals processes.
  • Reports rules, regulations, or law violations to appropriate boards or agencies.
  • Reviews established licensee records, including, but not limited to financial statements, policies, and business plans, to verify that renewal licenses and applications are valid and that licensing standards are being upheld.
  • Applies pertinent knowledge to the performance of licensing procedures and other responsibilities.
  • Develops a working knowledge of NMLS functionality and enhancements through daily use, available training materials, conference calls, webinars, published materials and frequent review of the NMLS Resource Center.
  • Develops a working knowledge of Department operating policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate to Advanced skill set for Microsoft Office, specifically MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Teams, and MS Excel.
  • Minimum of 2 years related work experience.
  • Working knowledge, skill or abilities in auditing, investigations, security or law enforcement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
