About McIntosh Trail

At McIntosh Trail Community Service Board, we offer individuals experiencing symptoms associated with mental illness, addictive disease and/or developmental disability the hope for optimal functioning and recovery by providing quality behavioral health services and supports.

Summary

Utilize personal lived experience to engage individuals currently held in the Henry County jail who are on the forensic hospital waitlist.

Responsibilities

·         Engage with individuals prior to their release to build rapport and facilitate a smooth transition to community services. This will include visitation to the Henry County Jail.

·         Provide follow-up support to link individuals to treatment and community resources that are responsive to their specific needs.

·         Support individuals in maintaining compliance with bond conditions and attending scheduled review hearings.  

Minimum Qualifications

·         High school diploma or GED, with demonstrated experience in general office or administrative support.

·         Must have personal lived experience with recovery from mental health or substance use challenge.

·         Certification as a Peer Specialist (CPS) in the state of Georgia with a Forensic specialization (CPSS-F) preferred.

·         Experience working with forensic population/community-based behavioral health.

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, certification as a law enforcement officer, firefighter, or medic, and four (4) years of public safety experience as a sworn law enforcement officer, firefighter, or medic; or Certification as a law enforcement officer, firefighter or medic, and seven (7) years of public safety experience as a sworn law enforcement officer, firefighter or medic . Note: Up to four (4) years of honorable military time may be substituted for years of public safety experience.
