Atlantic Judicial Circuit – Criminal Investigator I


The Atlantic Judicial Circuit Office is seeking to hire a Criminal Investigator I in Liberty County. The candidate trains to perform routine investigative work. This position conducts investigations to include assisting in interviewing witnesses, complainants, and/or law enforcement officials, seizing evidence, issuing warrants, and preparing reports on findings in preparation for cases. The Criminal Investigator I is an entry/training level position in the Criminal Investigator job series.

Description of Duties: The Criminal Investigator I performs complex investigative work. Duties in this position will progressively increase as the incumbent becomes more familiar with the investigative and legal procedures for felony cases. Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and must meet the prerequisites and complete the Basic Law Enforcement Training Program certification; or two (2) years of experience in law enforcement or related field and Georgia P.O.S.T. certification. Note: Some positions may require the incumbent to have a valid Class C driver's license.
