Job description:

State of Georgia - Georgia Building Authority is looking for a Housekeeper 2. We offer:

Under general supervision and according to established procedures, the Housekeeper 2 performs repetitive cleaning tasks in maintaining assigned area in an orderly and sanitary condition. The Housekeeper 2 also performs other job-related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Cleans assigned areas according to established procedures while observing all precautions and risk management procedures for proper cleaning, waste disposal, and chemical use
  • Restock soap, paper, and other dispensers as needed
  • Thoroughly cleans assigned areas (i.e. offices, public areas, food service areas & restrooms, etc.), to include retrieving litter and emptying trash receptacles on a routine basis
  • Completes supply request forms in an accurate, legible, and timely manner
  • Loads, cleans, and returns service cart and stock housekeeping closets as needed
  • Launder and maintain microfiber towels and mop-heads after daily use
  • Maintains and operates equipment and machinery properly, obeying all operating and safety instructions; notifies supervisor in a timely manner of equipment and/or facilities needing attention not related to housekeeping
  • Performs duties at appropriate times to minimize disruptions to customers
  • Follows procedures established by Housekeeping Supervisor and customer(s) to maintain a physically secure environment for all assigned areas
  • Responds to service calls within departmental guidelines and notifies supervisor(s) immediately of any unusual situations, damage or problems
  • Maintains communication and accessibility with supervisory staff throughout the assigned shift
  • Wears uniform as defined by departmental policy
  • Participates in training sessions, special activities or events as required
  • Participates in the department quality improvement program by completing inspection forms, identifying problems and taking actions for resolution
  • Adhere to all memos, policies, procedures, schedules and other materials as distributed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of experience in related area of assignment

OR

One (1) year of experience at the lower level Housekeeper 1 (FES040) or position equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants, who in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess one (1) or more of the following:

One (1) year experience in floor care (carpet or hard floor care)

OR

Familiarity using work order systems and technology

Note: Must be able to obtain International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) Custodial Technician Training (CTT) Basic Certification within one (1) year of employment.
