Job Description:


Prepare and cook food in hospital. Will cook-by-recipe, making sure individuals receive good, portioned and nutritious meals. Duties of the cook involve operating large/volume cooking. Must be ServSafe Certified. Prepares, heats and finishes cooking food items and serves customers, client and/or employees. May receive and disburse money in a food service establishment. Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.


Job Responsibilities include:


• Performs duties related to the cooking, preparation and storage of food and beverage items following safe food handling practices.
• Assists with the serving and distribution of food.
• Operates and maintains food service equipment and uses supplies appropriately.
• Maintains a safe, clean and sanitary work environment.
• Effectively washes and scours all cooking utensils after each use.
• Operates dishwashing equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and established guidelines.

High school diploma or GED AND Six months of experience in the area of assignment.
 
At least six months of work experience in preparing, cooking and serving food in a food service operation. Understand and follow recipes, equipment instructions and sanitation procedures. Basic knowledge of safety and cleanliness practices like those used in a food service operation. Must be able to cook-by-recipe. Valid Driver’s License from State of Georgia and clear driving record.
High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in the area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Food Svc Worker 2 (FFS011) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
