Position Title: Director of Admissions
The Director of Admissions provides strategic leadership and oversight for all admissions and enrollment functions of the College. This position is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies, managing admissions operations, and ensuring a student-centered enrollment experience that supports institutional growth and student success. The Director collaborates with academic and administrative departments to promote access, increase enrollment, and maintain compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations while fostering strong relationships with prospective students, community partners, and stakeholders.
Description of Duties
Under minimal supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Director of Admissions is responsible for:
- Planning and managing activities of admissions of all new and re-entering students on all campuses;
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive recruitment plan;
- Assisting in marketing and public relations activities;
- Creation of annual budget and planning for respective unit;
- Processing student applications for acceptance and admission into degree, diploma and certificate programs;
- Serving as a key leader in the daily management and implementation in a high-volume and fast-paced environment, managing and implementing a college/high school dual enrollment program;
- Providing information by telephone, electronic, and written correspondences, and in person inquiries to interested parties regarding application procedures and admissions requirements;
- Developing and maintaining working relationships, communications and contacts with staff as well as other agencies, school systems, consultants, legislators, and the general public;
- Assisting with the design and execution of special events, projects, and activities;
- Coordinating assessments for college admission and program placement;
- Creating and maintaining a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership, strong team orientation, and a dedication toward providing outstanding customer service on a daily basis;
- Displaying a high level of effort and commitment to performing work;
- Operating effectively within the organizational structure;
- Demonstrating trustworthiness and responsible behavior;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
· Three (3) years of work-related experience
Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
· Experience working with Ellucian products and/or Salesforce products (specifically TargetX)
· Proficient with technology and Microsoft Office Applications
· Experience in a higher educational environment preferably in student affairs or enrollment management
Physical Demands
The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight. Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.
Salary/Benefits
Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
