Savannah Technical College - STC

Savannah Technical College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Maintenance Technician.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled work related to the maintenance and repair of the College’s facilities and grounds. This is a full-time, benefitted, non-exempt position. The role requires travel between the Savannah, Crossroads (Pooler), and Effingham campuses as business needs dictate.

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent *and* One (1) year of experience in a skilled trade or building maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a skilled trade or building maintenance
  • HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical competencies, licenses and the like
  • Experience working for a state agency
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans
  • Ability to use a computer and knowledge of basic computer program functions
  • Valid driver's license

Physical Demands:

Ability to life/move objects weighing 15lbs or more; ability to use a range of hand and power tools; ability to work in various environmental conditions; ability to climb ladders; ability to work independently.  This position is a field position and will require constant movement and repetitive motions.

Salary/Benefits:

Salary is commensurate with education and work experienceBenefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
