Georgia Piedmont Technical College - GPTC

Librarian (Full-Time) Newton Campus 

Assists in maintaining a comprehensive Learning Resource Center to support staff, faculty and students at the college. The Librarian will report to the Director of Library Services. 

Essential Job Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide reference and circulation desk services.

  • Assist patrons with reference questions and research.

  • Provide in-person and online library instruction for faculty and students

  • Assist in the development of tools and activities that support and promote instructional programs and services (i.e. information resources, guides, tutorials, and web resources).

  • Manage the Ex Libris Alma library services platform.

  • Manage LibGuides and other Springshare library applications.

  • Catalog books and other resources

  • Assist in collection development and training of other staff. 

  • Supervise student assistants and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution.
