Employment Terms: This job is a part time, non-benefited, FLSA non-exempt position in the Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design Division that reports to the Program Director of Air Conditioning Technology.

 

Schedule: The hours are Monday through Thursday 2:00pm - 9:00pm. This position is considered a TRS covered, hourly-paid, support position and as a result you may work at least twenty (20) but no more than twenty-nine (29) hours per week for an indefinite period based on business needs and departmental budget.  In this position you are required to participate in the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) as a condition of employment. There are no state benefits or leave accruals attached to this position.

 

Salary: The targeted hourly rate for this position is $16.64 per hour.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code T9001):
High school diploma or GED.  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following technical competencies are preferred: Technical skills in the air conditioning industry. Demonstrates initiative. Demonstrates professionalism in appearance.  Possesses good interpersonal skills: with faculty; colleagues and peers; and students. Knowledge of hand/power tools and air conditioning supplies; Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload; Ability to communicate, meet deadlines, exhibit proper judgment in selecting which questions to handle or re-direct. R- ASE Certification and Post-Secondary Education is a plus.

 

Job Description Summary:

Assist the Program Director and other instructors in supervising and evaluating students in an on-campus Air conditioning technology lab setting. If offered a position, employees in this department must complete the Hazardous Materials Training annually

Conduct lab activities (including demonstration of tasks, grading of projects, and documentation).

Maintain equipment and supplies, including ordering, stocking and organizing

Ensure that labs and storage areas are neat and orderly.

Assist with grading course material.
