Dental Clinic Director
Central State Hospital – Milledgeville, Georgia

About Us
Central State Hospital (CSH) is home to Georgia’s maximum secure forensic hospital, located in the Payton B. Cook Building in historic Milledgeville. In addition to providing inpatient psychiatric treatment for individuals referred through the criminal justice system, CSH also operates a fully equipped Dental Clinic within the Cook Building as well as a free-standing community Dental Clinic that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Clinic Director to oversee and lead both clinics, ensuring the highest standards of dental care for patients and the community.

Key Responsibilities
As the Dental Clinic Director, you will:

  • Organize, direct, and coordinate dental services across both clinics.
  • Provide direct patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and management of dental and oral health conditions.
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of dental staff and support personnel.
  • Design, fit, and oversee the creation of dental prosthetics, appliances, and restorative treatments.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and treatment options.
  • Develop treatment plans and manage complex dental conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to align clinic operations with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate or professional degree in dentistry (DMD or DDS) from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical dental experience.
  • Current Georgia license to practice dentistry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to serving diverse and special needs populations.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience working in hospital, forensic, or public health settings.
  • Supervisory or leadership background in a dental practice or clinic.
  • Familiarity with treatment of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Doctorate or professional degree in dentistry from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience at the lower level Dentist 3 (HCP132) or position equivalent and current Georgia license to practice dentistry.
