Southern Crescent Technical College is seeking a forward-thinking, student-centered academic leader to serve as the Dean of Academic Affairs, Allied Health. The Dean is responsible for providing strategic vision, academic leadership, and operational oversight for all Allied Health programs, including Cardiovascular Technology, Central Sterile Supply, Dental Assisting, Healthcare Management, Medical Assisting, Nursing (LPN, RN, and Nursing Bridge), Nursing Assistant, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care, and Surgical Technology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
We are seeking a qualified candidate with the following minimum qualifications:
• Master's degree from a nationally or regionally accredited institution college or university in a healthcare field or occupational supporting discipline, or a closely related field. The appropriate degree should meet the requirements of college accrediting agencies.
• At least three to five years' experience working in an academic unit in higher education within the past seven years.
• Experience in a supervisory role in education and industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess and maintain the appropriate professional credentials required for or related to the field or position.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including internet, email, Microsoft Office suite, operational knowledge of Banner, and web-ex.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong desire to help students succeed in an environment that promotes academic excellence.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following preferred qualifications:
• Three to five years' post-secondary and/or higher education teaching experience.
• Experience in curriculum development, instructional methodology, planning, evaluation, budgeting, supervision, and management.
• Demonstrated experience with Blackboard and Office 365.
• Experience in SACSCOC and programmatic accreditation.
• Experience as a program coordinator and department chair.
• Familiarity with Technical College System of Georgia policies, procedures, and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Dean for Academic Affairs, Allied Health, you will oversee all aspects of the academic unit of Allied Health. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Planning and organizing the unit's work to meet the technical college's objectives.
• Supervising and evaluating the performance of all full- and part-time faculty and staff within the assigned areas.
• Reviewing and approving all requests for supplies and materials.
• Preparing the instructional program specifications and budget.
• Representing the department at various internal and external meetings.
• Developing and implementing an educational plan for all campus locations to ensure adequate staff, space, and materials.
• Addressing and resolving complaints and needs of students, faculty, staff, and outside customers.
• Serving as a liaison to departments of the technical college.
• Promoting the satellite campus program to public and private organizations to support expanded services and facilities.
• Attending campus program advisory meetings bi-annually
• Providing leadership for committees, special projects, and initiatives as assigned.
• Developing and/or assisting with the development of policies and procedures and recommending changes to meet the goals and requirements of the Flint River Campus.
• Conducting regular evaluations of services provided and adjusting as needed.
• Reporting directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA).•
• Overseeing programmatic and governing body accreditation, compliance, and reporting to ensure all programs meet or exceed required standards.
• Will maintain an instructional workload as assigned by the VPAA.
• Completing other duties as assigned

• Proficiency in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
SALARY:
This is a full-time position. Salary commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, paid annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
