Job Summary:

 

A.    Under broad supervision, participates in Yellow-Legged Hornet Eradication Activities:

1.      Completes PARs for YLH full- and part-time employees

a.       Assists with onboarding new employees, including submitting employee information to HR

b.      Keeps YLH employee contact information current

2.      Submits requisitions for YLH supplies for office, field staff, etc., and maintains a current log of inventory

3.      Assists with expense reports for YLH employees

4.      Assists with YLH public outreach activities, including answering phone calls, emails, etc.

 

B.     Under broad supervision, it provides support to apiary inspection activities:

1.      Processes Commercial Beekeepers licenses

2.      Answers general questions regarding beekeeper licensing

3.      Updates and provides apiary tags

 

C.     Under broad supervision, it provides general office support, including:

1.      Tracking and filing various inspection reports

2.      Assisting with invoices and customer payments for Plant Protection Export programs

3.      Maintains and updates compliance lists

4.      Responds to phone calls and emails

5.      Handles outgoing mail

 

Completes other duties as assigned

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, biological sciences, IT or business/accounting.
  • Two years of work experience in an office setting
  • Experience in an agricultural or horticultural business
  • Working knowledge of the Windows computer operating system and applications.

 

Physical Demands:

·         Sitting for extended periods

·         Working on a computer for extended periods

·         Talking on the phone
