The Alternate Public Defender East Metro Office is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Defender I. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position. This entry-level position will primarily handle pre-indictment cases in DeKalb County and will be based in the Central Office located in downtown Atlanta.  Applicants must be in good standing with the State Bar or registered to sit for the bar exam for the first time in July. A strong commitment to indigent defense is also required.

Description of Duties: The Assistant Public Defender I will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients.
