Brighter Futures - is looking for a full-time Psychiatrist for our Jail-based competency restoration program which will be based onsite at Dodge County, GA.

Our Mission is to provide comprehensive competency restoration services in an efficient manner to individuals who are experiencing mental illness and have been found incompetent to stand trial.

The Psychiatrist would be part of the Medical Executive team at Central State Hospital and would report to Clinical Director at CSH.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating Individuals
  • carrying a caseload of around 30 patients and treating Individuals suffering from mental illness with a goal of restoration of competency to stand trial
  • Admitting Individuals to the program and monitor their clinical progress
  • Establishing Individuals to the program and monitor their clinical progress
  • Providing a Bio-Psycho-Social treatment to Individuals suffering from mental illness
  • Participating in treatment team meetings and case conferences
  • Writing treatment plans and clinical reports
  • Participating in various clinical quality assurance activities
  • Working in a Multi-disciplinary team with Psychologists, Mental Health Clinicians, Nurses, ancillary clinicians, and security staff
  • Liaising with Courts, Justice department and other law enforcement agencies

You will be required to work in-person onsite at the Dodge County, Jail based competency restoration program - Monday through Friday, during daytime hours.

*Additional Information - Selected applicant must meet the following standards:

 

1.     Must pass a pre-employment background check (which includes criminal records check, driver's history, and verification of work history) and a post-hire federal background investigation.

2.     Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program.

3.     Eligible to work in the U.S.

4.     Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
