Building Inspector - Plant (Manufactured Housing - Colquitt/Ware)

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, Office of - OCI

Under supervision, the Building Inspector – Plant is responsible for conducting inspections of manufactured housing production facilities to ensure compliance with federal and state building codes, construction standards, and quality assurance procedures.

Conduct regular inspections at manufacturing plants to verify compliance with HUD standards and state regulations, construction, and safety.

Monitor and evaluate plant production processes, including materials, construction methods, and quality control systems.

Identify and document deficiencies, noncompliance issues, or violations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.

Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of findings, corrective actions, and follow-ups.

Coordinate with plant personnel, third-party inspection agencies, and state/federal regulatory bodies as necessary.

Provide technical assistance to manufacturers regarding interpretation of HUD and state construction standards.

Attend training sessions, workshops, and meetings to remain current on changes in manufactured housing standards and inspection procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of job-related experience. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license. Note: Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.
