GPDC Appellate Division-Appellate Manager

The Georgia Public Defender Council is seeking to hire an experienced Appellate Manager to oversee the Appellate Division operations. This position requires expertise in laws, regulations, decisions, and case law. Applicants must meet the qualification and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position. Applicants must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. Description of Duties: The Appellate Manager will oversee all Appellate operations for the Georgia Public Defender Council. The duties of the Appellate Division’s Managing Attorney will include the supervision of the Central Office Appellate Staff, independent staff attorneys housed in satellite Appellate Offices throughout the State of Georgia, and all private practice attorneys whom the program has assigned appellate cases through GPDC. This position will supervise and be responsible for conducting all training for appellate practice within GPDC. The Appellate Manager will work at the pleasure of the Executive Director. Other duties may be required and assigned.
