The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Nurse Educator at Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.

Job Grade L

Salary:  $69,000.00

Job Responsibilities:

This position requires the Nurse Educator to work under the supervision of the Sr. Manager, Training Program Administrator and must possess knowledge of nursing practices and knowledge of instructional design.  The Nurse Educator will assist with needs assessment/planning of training for new employees and annual recertification for all staff, with a heavy focus on nursing services staff.  The position will also be required to routinely visit units on the hospital campus to conduct performance evaluations of the skills taught in the classrooms.  The Nurse Educator will also assist in the clinical student orientation and nursing skills competency fair.

 Sample Technical Competencies: 

·       Experience in working with individuals with behavioral health needs

·       Experience in working in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and A-V equipment

·       Ability to work with limited supervision and the ability to communicate with employees from various backgrounds.

High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of area specific experience, which includes one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Training & Dev Spec 3 (GSP122).
