The Industrial Safety Instructor is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality training programs for adult learners in areas such as workplace safety, forklift operation and certification, leadership development, and other industry-relevant topics. This role supports the mission of the college by providing workforce development training that meets the needs of local employers and promotes student success. The instructor will deliver instructional content for courses in workplace safety (OSHA-related topics, PPE, hazard recognition), forklift operator certification (theory and hands-on skills), leadership/supervisory/soft skills training, and other related technical and professional development courses as reasonably assigned. The instructor will provide engaging, student-centered instruction using a variety of teaching methods and learning resources. This individual will evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback, assessments, and certifications as appropriate. They will maintain attendance, training records, and documentation of student progress. They will ensure compliance with institutional policies, state/federal regulations, and industry standards. Maintain training equipment, labs, and instructional spaces in safe and operable conditions. Staying current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to assigned instructional areas. They will collaborate with the Economic Development department, employers, and other instructors to align training with workforce needs. They will participate in professional development and staff meetings as required.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
