The position is open to current employees of the TCSG System Office and affiliated technical colleges who meet the minimum qualifications below.

 

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their fulltime

High School Equivalency (HSE) HOPE Grant Specialist in the Office of Adult Education. This position is responsible for processing HOPE HSE vouchers for eligible test takers by reviewing documents, evaluating eligibility, and approving state financial aid for High School Equivalency testing (GED and HiSET).  This position will assist in supporting the HSE Field Office Operations by communicating Georgia's HOPE HSE Voucher process to interested individuals, stakeholders, colleagues, as needed. The HSE Specialist, will also assist in monitoring the customer service information lines for the field and assisting field operations resolving issues with student files, customer and colleague requests.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

                     Determines eligibility and awards HSE vouchers using various software packages and completes the verification process, generates tracking and award notifications;

                     Requests additional information for incomplete or inconsistent applications to perform accurate needs analysis;

                     Regularly audit error dashboards and submitted documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations and institutional policies and procedures to resolve errors.

                     Perform field training for HOPE Grant Application Completion for Adult Education Staff.

                     Provide field application support for students and staff.

                     Communication liaison to TCSG- IT and Georgia Student Finance (GSFC) for application issues and resolutions.;

                     Prepare monthly reports regarding the status of used and remaining test vouchers;

                     Respond to inquiries from interested stakeholders concerning the HOPE HSE Voucher program, application procedures, eligibility, etc.

                     Provide excellent customer service to staff, state organizations, and the general public

                     Manage HSE and HOPE Grant Office Inbox Communications

                     Provide Marketing Campaign Support

                     Provide HSE Field Support resolutions via GED Manager, HiSET Management Tool and Navigator

                     Present HOPE HSE Voucher Program information at meetings, group discussions, workshops, as requested.

                     Other duties/Special projects as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

High School Diploma *and* -Two (2) years relevant experience in admissions/financial aid

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

·       Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft applications

·       Excellent customer service skills

·       Strong communication skills (oral and written)

·       In-depth knowledge of GED Manager, HiSET Relationship Management tool and the Navigator Customer System.

·       Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

·       In-depth knowledge of state and federal guidelines and regulations governing student aid administration

·       Ability to establish and maintain effective work relations with staff, state organizations, and the general public

·       Bilingual
