GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Administrative Services is the State of Georgia’s enterprise solution for human resources administration, risk management and state purchasing. Through the efforts of our employees, we provide enterprise leadership, business services and solutions to help state entities improve organizational efficiency, workforce performance and policy compliance. With over $5 billion dollars of spend under management, the State Purchasing Division, is tasked with managing the development of the state procurement policies, strategic sourcing for state entities and ensuring that procurement professionals are both educated and compliant with current regulations.
We are seeking an innovative thinker and enthusiastic problem solver who enjoy challenges and a fast‐paced environment to join us as a Contract Management Assistant. This is an entry level position in the procurement agent job group. DOAS is a hybrid work environment and telework is encouraged with some days in the office required.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Contract Management Assistant, you will assist in:
o the implementation and management of statewide contracts
o the process of statewide contract renewals and contract extension
o the processing of contract waiver requests and supplier performance assessments
o conducting business review meetings
o the resolution of contract‐related issues, identified by authorized users of statewide contracts
o the development and execution of the marketing plan for assigned statewide contracts
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
o Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
o Ability to work cooperatively and persuasively with external and internal leadership
This position may require some travel.
Completion of a pre-employment background check is required.

MINIMUM ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree in business administration, public administration or a directly related field from an accredited
college or university
OR Two years of experience in a purchasing environment providing support in collecting bids, completing procurement documents and related functions.

* Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
· Procurement management experience for private or public organization
· Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in a related field
· Prior procurement experience with a State of Georgia agency or entity
· Demonstrated experience providing customer service in a procurement environment
· Experience with Team Georgia Marketplace and/or PeopleSoft Financials
· Working knowledge of agencies, university system and public procurement
· Intermediate level of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
