The Georgia Public Defender Council, Specialized Unit Division in the Central Office, is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Defender III. Qualified candidates must possess the skills and experience necessary to effectively perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Applicants must be experienced criminal defense attorneys with demonstrated trial experience and the ability to travel as required. Candidates must also be current members in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. A strong commitment to indigent defense and the provision of high-quality legal representation is essential. Salary is commensurate with experience.

In addition, the Assistant Public Defender III may serve as lead or supporting counsel on serious, high-profile, and significant felony cases, requiring advanced legal knowledge and strong advocacy skills. Performs other related duties as required.
