We are currently seeking Behavioral Health Technician/Individual Support Worker (fmr House Parent) to join our teams in our, in making a difference in the lives of our patients every day.  We are located in the heart of Middle Georgia State where we enjoy abundant recreational opportunities, and a family friendly environment with good schools and opportunities for the entire family to be involved.

Summary of Duties

The Behavioral Health Technician/Individual Support Worker (fmr House Parent) cares for people who have disabilities, chronic illnesses, cognitive impairments, or age-related problems. He or she provides social interaction and companionship for patients in various healthcare settings under the direction of a licensed professional.

Responsibilities

·         Complies with ATC and Oconee Center CSB policies/procedures

·         Complies with client facility nursing policies/procedures

·         Maintains confidentiality relative to patient services and facility practices in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

·         Communicates information effectively to appropriate personnel.

·         Provides companionship services, such as sitting with patient or reading to patient.

·         Provides patient services in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.

·         Document observances of clients into Catalyst at the end of shift

Qualifications

·         At least six months of work experience as a sitter/companion in a healthcare setting.

·         Experience in Behavioral Health (Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health or Substance Abuse)

·         Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered

Knowledge & Skills

·         Must be a self-started and work independently;

·         Must be able to perform assignments with minimal supervision;

·         Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures;

·         Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.
