This job is a part-time, non-benefited, FLSA-exempt position in the General Education Division that reports to the Program Director of English.

 

Salary: $2100/per course.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 10317)


Doctorate or Master's degree in English OR Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in English. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

In addition to the minimum qualifications, Postsecondary teaching experience.

 

Job Description Summary:

Prepares and delivers lectures and engaging activities. Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for general composition and/or literature courses. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives using essays, other assignments, discussions, and other activities. Grades essays and gives thorough and effective feedback in a timely manner. Maintains an updated and accurate gradebook and other records. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.
