Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia - PAC

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Under broad supervision, performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control functions, such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll preparation, budget monitoring or related processes.  Provides customer service and technical program support for an accounting office or related financial function.  May act as lead worker.

 Essential Functions:

  • Reviewing a wide range of source documents, such as purchase orders, vouchers, invoices, receipts, requisitions, travel documents and other forms for accuracy and completeness;
  • Assigning standard pre-established accounting codes and other identifying information;
  • Preparing and entering accounts payable vouchers into PeopleSoft Financials and submitting payment to the vendor;
  • Researching and resolving invoice and payment discrepancies;
  • Verifying and correcting information and reconciling accounting records;
  • Reviewing accounts payable queries and reporting for accuracy;
  • Reviewing and processing Concur travel reports for compliance and accuracy;
  • Preparing ad hoc reports to management on a weekly and monthly basis;
  • Performing periodic review, analyzing and reconciling accounts payable to general ledger;
  • Conducting training with personnel on accounts payable and Concur travel processes and procedures;
  • Communicating efficiently with vendors and staff;
  • Displaying a high level effort, commitment and detail in performing tasks;
  • Demonstrating trustworthiness and responsible behavior;
  • Assisting with additional tasks and other duties as assigned, including year-end closing.

 Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a business curriculum or related field from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in a business curriculum or related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions OR High school diploma or GED AND Four years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions OR One year of experience required at the lower level Financial Ops Generalist 2 (FIT021) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and three years’ of financial management experience OR Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and five years’ of financial management experience OR seven years (7) of financial management experience, preferably in state government with career progression. Working knowledge of Peoplesoft Financials; Strong computer skills: Microsoft Access, Excel and Word; Knowledge of standard operating procedures; coding terminology and accounting principles; Excellent record keeping, oral and written communication; Strong customer service skills; Experience with Georgia Travel & Expense (Concur), BudgetNet, BudgetTool and Laserfiche or other Electronic File Management System
